NBR/ABNT 10636 Certification

SERPRO’s (Federal Data Processing Service) data center is built using pre-fabricated modular solutions certified according to the ABNT/NBR 10636 standard (120 minutes), ensuring the infrastructure meets strict safety, efficiency, and resilience requirements for critical environments. This certification encompasses a range of best practices and controls aimed at protection against fire, physical risks, and operational threats, promoting a high level of service continuity. Additionally, compliance with the standard ensures the environment is prepared to support uninterrupted operations and safeguard the integrity of the data being processed and stored—crucial for an institution that handles sensitive government and citizen information.

In addition to its robust and resilient physical infrastructure, the data center is Tier III of Uptime Institute. This certification ensures the environment is designed to deliver high availability, allowing for both preventive and corrective maintenance to be carried out concurrently—without interrupting ongoing services. As a result, downtime can be avoided even during critical interventions, guaranteeing a minimum annual availability of 99.982%. The Tier III certification also reinforces the infrastructure’s reliability, ensuring the system can withstand isolated component failures while maintaining uninterrupted performance and security.

Modular data centers are known for their energy efficiency and rapid deployment. A prime example is this model featuring a PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) of 1.4. This metric compares total energy consumption to the amount used directly by IT equipment, showing that only 40% of the total power is allocated to supporting operations such as cooling and lighting. A low PUE like 1.4 reflects a well-designed environment with optimized cooling systems and strict airflow control, offering significant cost savings and sustainability, while also ensuring high operational performance.

Additionally, it provides high resilience through the segregation of critical and operational systems.
